Consultant Billing Software User

Perhaps the most challenging task a private consultant faces is the need to accurately track and bill for time.  Unlike punching a clock, or working a salaried position with set hours, the average consultant doesn’t work 9-5, and it can be an inconvenient chore to keep hand-written logs of time spent on your projects.  EnterYourHours.com consultant billing software is the tool consultants need to get them out of the accounting books and back on the job.

EnterYourHours.com consultant billing software is easily set up, and requires no downloads.  Once billing data for clients has been entered, tracking hours is as simple as using a stopwatch.  The program includes a multi-timer function that you can turn on and off as you start and stop work on a project.  The timer is pre-set to allocate hours to a specific client and project, and that information is at your fingertips when you are ready to invoice.  You have the ability to run several timers simultaneously, allowing you to multitask between clients or projects, while keeping accurate records of time spent on each individually.

If you work with a partner or allocate work to employees, EnterYourHours.com consultant billing software provides you with the ability to set up multiple employee records with various billing rates for each.  A web design consultant, for example, may be using the timer while on site with a client, while her assistant is in the office performing maintenance for the same client, but at a different billable rate.  When your work takes you on the road, EnterYourHours.com is only as far away as the nearest internet connection.  The program can also be accessed from your PDA.

When you are ready to invoice, your data is transferred to a professional PDF and can be as detailed as you need it to be.  Using drop-down filters, you can customize each invoice with a couple of mouse clicks to include dates, hours, employee and project names, and fees for hours or flat-rate services.  If you are currently using QuickBooks for your accounting, you can avoid costly errors and reduce the amount of time spent on those functions by integrating QuickBooks with the EnterYourHours.com consultant billing software system.

As a freelancing professional, you’re not getting paid if you’re not working.  So if you’re ready to spend more time on the job, and less time tracking hours and invoicing clients, then it’s time to check out the EnterYourHours.com consultant billing software system.

Legal Billing Software User

In a busy law practice, there are generally multiple personnel working on cases for a variety of clients.  Different billing rates apply to each associate, and keeping track of billing hours and flat rate services can be a time-consuming and complicated process.  With EnterYourHours.com legal billing software, your law firm will save time and money by replacing the time-consuming practice of hand writing and tracking hours for client invoicing with a system that can track every associate and every project, and produce clear and professional invoices for your clients all in one easy-to-use interface.

Every associate, from office assistant to paralegal to partner, has the ability to turn on a timer that will track the amount of time spent on a project.  The EnterYourHours.com legal billing software system keeps track of all time spent, and will calculate those hours against individual billing rates for each associate.  When an associate stops work, or is interrupted to spend time on another client, the timer is simply paused until work is resumed.
The ability to have multiple timers running simultaneously allows personnel to multitask between projects while still keeping careful track of billable hours per client.  That data is then stored in the associate’s account until he is ready to create a log for billable time.  Date transferred to the invoice can be as simple as a brief description of services provided and an amount due, or as detailed as listing each associate involved with a project, along with hours and billable rates for each associate.  When cases are taken on the road, all features of the timer are available via handheld PDA.

Practices currently utilizing QuickBooks to perform payroll and invoicing functions can avoid costly errors and reduce the amount of time spent on those functions by integrating QuickBooks with the EnterYourHours.com legal billing software system.

From set-up to building your database of clients and employees, the EnterYourHours.com system is intuitive and efficient. Unlike other time and billing software systems, EnterYourHours.com does not require extensive employee training sessions, downloads, or long-term contracts.  The tabbed interface provides a step-by-step process that will have your organization set up and using the software within minutes.  If your law practice is ready to take better control of your billing and payroll procedures, EnterYourHours.com legal billing software is the solution.

Time and Billing Software User

Time and billing software can you help your bottom line.  Running a small professional services business often means that the billing and payroll, which in a large company would be completed by an accounting team, falls to one or two very busy people.  The ability to keep accurate and efficient billing and payroll records is a real challenge for your business, and EnterYourHours.com is the solution.

From set-up to building your database of clients and employees, EnterYourHours.com’s Time and Billing software is intuitive and efficient.  The tabbed interface provides a step-by-step process that will have your organization set up and using the software within minutes.  Unlike most time and billing software systems, EnterYourHours.com does not require extensive employee training sessions.  You provide access to your employees to enter time spent working on a project, and this information is complied and available to you for all reporting and invoicing functions.

Tracking your work is quick and easy with the multi-task timer component.  The timer works like a stopwatch, and helps you keep track of billable hours spent on each client.  This is a critical feature when you have several employees assigned to a project, or are handling multiple jobs for a client which need to be invoiced individually.  In addition to the ability to break out invoicing by employee hours, EnterYourHours Time and Billing Software allows users to assign work to specific projects and duties, and these segments can be displayed in a grouped format on the invoice.

With the EnterYourHours.com Time and Billing Software, you have the option to effortlessly transfer information from QuickBooks directly to the EnterYourHours.com interface.  This saves time and avoids the errors that inevitably come with transferring information by hand.

By utilizing drop down filters, EnterYourHours.com Time and Billing Software users have the ability to create specific, customized queries for ad hoc reports.  When a quick snapshot of a project is needed, you have the ability to view a work summary by day or week, for both clients and employees.  Aging report provides a snapshot of what is current, what is due or overdue, and a total payment history for each client.

Billing for hours by employee or by client, fixed price items such as products or flat-rate services, and reimbursable expenses are batched by using drop-down filter to choose client, project, hours, employee, or date range.  Batches chosen for invoicing are quickly exported into a professional and detailed PDF invoices for your clients.

Hand-written data is unprofessional, prone to inaccuracy, and time consuming.  If you are ready to consolidate your billing procedures into one efficient and easy-to-use program, then your professional services business is ready for EnterYourHours.com Time and Billing Software.

EnterYourHours.com New Feature Introduction – Project Duties

The release for V2.0 of EnterYourHours.com, hourly billing and time management software for professional services companies is near.   Project duties is the second to last of the new features I’m introducing on this blog.

Project duties are a way for an administrator to configure a list of items, tasks, or responsibilities that a worker will be performing, and the administrator can set it so the worker is required to choose a duty under the project when entering hours.  Additionally, the administrator can apply an override bill rate, and override pay rate to each duty.

The screenshot below shows the new project management form with the additional entry fields to create a list of duties for the project.  Notice the override rates.

EnterYourHours.com New Feature Introduction – Multi-task Timer

Well version 2.0 for EnterYourHours.com (hourly billing software for the professional services industry) is delayed a few days (February 3rd is the new release date).    On a positive note, however, I can introduce our multi-task timer feature.  The multi-task timer allows you to keep track of several clients at once.  Let’s say you have a timer running for a project you are working on for client X.  The phone rings and its client Y. You can pause client X’s timer and start client Y’s.   As soon as you are done talking to client Y, you can either go back to client X’s, or perhaps start working on something for client Z.  At this point you would add a timer for client Z and start it.

Starting one timer, pauses all the other active timers.   When you are finished with the timers (for example, at the end of the day), you can click the Record button and store all the information into a normal hourly entry.

The graphics are still being cleaned up and feature is still be heavily beta tested, so take the screenshot with a grain of salt.

Looking to the future for EnterYourHours.com

Professional Services companies that bill by the hour need more than hourly billing software.  While EnterYourHours.com has a host of great features, there are other tools that Professional Services companies will use.

From the first stages of development of our product, we knew we wanted to have an API so other customers could connect our software to their other software packages, and other software vendors could develop pre-packaged bridges to us.   We’ve now decided that we will create a series of web services, loosely based on the individual screens of EnterYourHours.com (Time & Sales, Clients, Invoicing, Workers, Payroll, Tasks, and Communications).  These web services will expose a series of functions that will allow account holders to automate data transfers back and forth over a secured SSL connection.

We are very excited about this feature and plan to have it in our April 2009 product upgrade.   For our June 2009 product upgrade we are planning to focus on payment gateways so our account holders can use their merchant accounts (such as Authorize.net) to automate payment requests along with their invoices.

EnterYourHours.com New Feature Introduction – Recurring Billing

EnterYourHours.com is hourly billing software with version 2.0 releasing at the end of January 2009.    For those of you who don’t know about EnterYourHours.com, it is an online time management and billing system for the professional services industry.

As the release approaches, I would like to introduce some of new upcoming features one at a time.   Today I would like to write about Recurring Billing.   Recurring Billing allows the users to repeat an entry on a scheduled basis.

On EnterYourHours.com’s Time & Sales screen, the user can enter hourly billing time, a fixed-price item to bill a client, or if an administrator, an item to pay a worker.   All of these types of entries can be scheduled for recurrence.

In the Daily History section of the Time & Sales screen, next to any entry, the user can click an icon (not shown) to bring up the recurrence schedule form.

An item can be scheduled to recur on a monthly basis, or a weekly basis.   The user can also choose a start date, so an item won’t start recurring until a future date is reached.   Finally, the user can configure the recurrence to automatically append the current week or month when it’s saved to the system.
